Categories help organize your written content. You can create a category from a site's admin page or while editing a post. This article explains how to add a new category.
Before you start
- You need a user account with an Author or Editor role.
Add a category from the Categories page
- Log in to your site.
- Navigate to Posts > Categories.
- Enter a Name. You can ignore the Slug as it will auto-populate.
- Click Add New Category.
Add a category from the post editor
- While editing a post, find to the Categories box on the right hand side.
- Click Add New Category.
- Enter the Category name.
