AMP (formerly known as Accelerated Mobile Pages) is an open-source technology created with the mission of providing "a user-first format for web content." AMP restricts and simplifies webpages to load them nearly instantly for mobile device users visiting from services that support AMP. You can learn more about AMP at amp.dev.
Most AMP content loads in less than half a second, leading to increased user engagement. A study commissioned by Google found that AMP leads to a 10 percent increase in website traffic, and visitors spend twice as long on AMP content.
While Google doesn't use AMP as a search engine ranking factor, it does add a lightning bolt icon to AMP content in mobile search results that may cause more users to visit your site.
In addition to Google, platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Bing may also load AMP for mobile users.
How AMP Works
When AMP is enabled, the LexBlog Platform creates the AMP version of your individual post pages utilizing your design's typography and colors. To follow AMP design principles and make the feature easy to benefit from, the AMP design and layout won't exactly match your site's responsive design.
Platforms that use AMP will detect the AMP version of your posts and may choose to display it to mobile visitors. Some may cache a copy to serve directly from their servers.
Administrators on the LexBlog Platform can enable AMP on Boutique and Full Service sites.
- Log in to your site as an Administrator user.
- Navigate to Appearance > Customize.
- In the Customizer, click AMP > Content > Posts.
- Click Publish.
You can view the AMP version of your posts after activating it by adding /amp.html to the end of a post's URL.

Use the Data Source dimension with the value amp to identify AMP traffic in Google Analytics.
