Name servers tell computers where to find a domain's DNS records. If you purchase your own domain, changing the name servers to LexBlog's service makes it easy to update the DNS records on launch day.
If your domain is pointed to a live site, changing the name servers will not take it offline.
Getting the new name servers
- If our Success team is launching your site, we will email you the name servers you should use.
- If you are launching your site through the Site Settings menu, the Domain Name tab displays the name servers after you add the domain in the Domain Registration section.
In both cases, you must log in to your domain registrar, delete the current name servers, and add the new name servers.
