Author Records — Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Author Records — what's included, how to subscribe, billing, and cancellation. For a full overview, read About Author Records.

General

What's the difference between a basic record and a paid Author Record?

Every author whose work appears in the LexBlog Library gets a basic record by default — a public page listing your name and sample posts we've synced under it. A paid Author Record upgrades that listing with structured JSON-LD schema markup, an expanded collected-works display, and a structured-author treatment in Library search. See About Author Records for the full comparison.

I'm an active LexBlog client — do I need to purchase an Author Record separately?

No. Author Records are included at no additional cost with any active LexBlog subscription. You only need to purchase separately if your firm doesn't have a current LexBlog subscription.

I used to be a LexBlog client but my subscription has ended. Am I still covered?

No. The bundle only applies to active subscriptions. Former clients need to purchase an Author Record separately at $19 per month. If you're not sure whether your subscription is still active, email success@lexblog.com and we'll confirm.

Is there a free trial?

No. Author Records are billed monthly at $19 starting at signup, with no trial period.

What posts will appear on my record?

Any post LexBlog has synced to the Library under your name. This includes posts published on LexBlog-powered blogs, articles submitted through the free membership process, and other legal publications we index. If you believe posts are missing or incorrectly attributed, email success@lexblog.com and we'll take a look.

Can posts from multiple publications appear on my record?

Yes. Your Author Record aggregates posts from every publication LexBlog has indexed under your name, regardless of where they were originally published.

Purchasing and setup

How do I subscribe?

There are two paths depending on whether you already have a basic record in the Library. See Purchase an Author Record for step-by-step instructions for each path.

What payment methods do you accept?

We use Stripe for checkout, which accepts all major credit and debit cards.

I subscribed but don't have an existing record. How long until mine is live?

Our team will reach out within 1–2 business days to collect your information and build your record. We'll email you again when it's published.

What information do you need to build my record?

When our team contacts you, we'll ask for your full name and firm or affiliation, links to your published work, an optional professional headshot, and a short bio.

I upgraded my existing basic record. How do I know it worked?

Your record upgrades automatically as soon as payment confirms. Visit your record page — you'll see a "Claimed" indicator after the upgrade.

Billing

How much does an Author Record cost?

$19 per month or $199 per year, billed through Stripe.

When am I billed?

On the same date each month as your original subscription date. Stripe emails you a receipt each time the subscription renews.

How do I update my payment method or billing email?

Email success@lexblog.com and we'll send you a secure link to update your payment details in Stripe.

Cancellation

How do I cancel?

Email success@lexblog.com and let us know you'd like to cancel. We'll process the cancellation through Stripe and confirm by email with the effective date. See About managing your Author Record subscription for details on what happens when you cancel.

What happens to my record when I cancel?

Your record reverts to a basic record. The page stays online and your posts continue to display in the LexBlog Publishing Network — you won't lose your public URL or your post history. The JSON-LD schema markup and expanded collected-works display turn off.

Will I be charged for the rest of the month if I cancel mid-cycle?

Depending on when you cancel within your billing cycle, you may have access through the end of the current period. We'll confirm the exact end date when we process your cancellation — you won't be billed again after that.

Can I resubscribe after canceling?

Yes, at any time. Your record won't be deleted, so resubscribing restores the paid features to your existing page.
