Paste text from Word or other programs

Some text editors like Microsoft Word add invisible formatting tags to their documents. When you copy and paste text from one program into the WordPress editor, sometimes that formatting will display on the blog front end or in email campaigns. To avoid this problem, you should Paste as text into the WordPress editor. This article explains how to paste as text.

Before you start

• You'll need a user account on your site.
• (Optional) Learn the paste as text keyboard shortcuts for your operating system:

Steps

1. Copy the post text to your clipboard.
2. Open a post to edit.
3. In the post editor, place your cursor where you want to paste the text within the post. 
4. Use one of the following methods to paste:
   • Use a keyboard shortcut. See the table above. 
   • Or, Right-click, then select Paste and Match Style.
