Paste text from Word or other programs

Some text editors like Microsoft Word add invisible formatting tags to their documents. When you copy and paste text from one program into the WordPress editor, sometimes that formatting will display on the blog front end or in email campaigns. To avoid this problem, you should use the Paste as text button in the WordPress editor before pasting the copied text. This article explains how to paste as text.

Before you start

You'll need a user account on your site.

Steps

1. Copy the post text to your clipboard.
2. Open a post to edit.
3. Click the Paste as text button in the text editor: 
   
   
   
   
4. Paste the text from your clipboard into the text editor.
