Delete files from the Media Library

This articles explains how to remove images, PDFs, or other media that you have uploaded to your site. The Media Library lets you add, edit, or delete media.

Warning

If you delete a file from the Media Library, it will disappear from any post, page, or user profile. Deleted files cannot be recovered.

Note

If a deleted image or file still appears on your site, it may be cached in your browser. try clearing your browser cache.

Before you start

• You'll need a user account with an Contributor role or higher.

Steps

1. Log in to your site.
2. Click Media > Library.
3. To delete a single item, click the file to open the Attachment Details. In the bottom right, click Delete Permanently.
   
   To delete multiple files, click Bulk Select:
   
   
   
   Select the items you want to delete, then click Delete Selected.
