Images play a vital role in making your posts visually appealing and engaging. With the LexBlog platform, you can set a focus point on an image to ensure the most important part of the image is displayed, especially when it's resized or used as a social media card. Here's how to set a focus point on an image:
Before you start
- Familiarize yourself with adding images to posts and pages
- Upload your image to the media library
Steps:
- Navigate to the post or page editor where you want to add your image.
- Upload or select an image from your Media Library. Click on the image to open its settings
- Locate the Focus Point tool in the bottom right of the image settings panel. Here you’ll see a marker or crosshair that you can drag to set the focus point.
- Click and drag the marker to the most important part of the image.
- The platform will save this focus point automatically for future uses of the image.
Note:
The LexBlog platform will use this focus point when resizing or cropping the image, ensuring it displays correctly in various contexts, such as: Featured images on posts and pages, LB Social Cards (learn more here), and for social sharing on major social media platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), etc.
Tips for Setting a Focus Point
- Faces and Key Subjects: Place the focus point on faces or key elements that should remain visible in cropped or resized versions of the image.
- Testing Social Cards: After setting the focus point, preview how the image appears on social media platforms to ensure it looks as expected.
