Troubleshoot a published post that isn't visible to visitors

Diagnose why a post shows as Published in the editor but does not appear to all visitors on your site or homepage. A published post should be public; this article covers the most common status, date, cache, and review-workflow causes.

Available On: Legacy, Bradwell, Blackstone, Enterprise, Website, and Microsite plans

The post is public on its own URL but missing from the homepage feed

Cause

The post may be excluded from the homepage or RSS feed by a sticky-post setting, a future publish date that has not passed, or a homepage module that only shows selected categories.

Remedy

  • Confirm the publish date is in the past, not scheduled for the future.
  • Check whether the post is marked sticky or excluded from feeds in the post editor settings.
  • If the post loads at its direct URL but never appears on the homepage after 15 minutes, submit a support request with the post URL and a screenshot of the editor's Status & visibility panel.

The post status shows Published, but visitors cannot see it

Cause

The post is still in Pending review workflow even though the editor displays your name and a publish date. Pending review posts are visible to Editors and Administrators but not to the public.

Remedy

  • Open the post and check the Post tab in the right sidebar. In Status & visibility, confirm the Pending review checkbox is unchecked.
  • If the checkbox is checked, uncheck it and click Update or Publish.
  • Log out of your site or open a private/incognito browser window and load the post URL to confirm public visibility.

The post was just published and does not appear on the homepage yet

Cause

LexBlog's scheduled-post system scans blogs on a regular interval. A post that was scheduled or recently published may take up to 15 minutes to appear, especially if it previously showed Missed Schedule.

Remedy

  • Wait 15 minutes, then refresh your homepage in a private/incognito window.
  • If the post still does not appear, see About "Missed Schedule" posts.

The post does not appear in the expected position on the homepage

Cause

Homepage lists sort by publication date. A post with an older publish date appears below newer posts and may look "missing" if you are only scanning the top of the page.

Remedy

  • Open the post and review the publish date in Status & visibility.
  • If the date is wrong, follow Change a post's publish date to set the correct date and time.
  • Reload the homepage and scroll through recent posts to confirm placement.

You see the post, but other editors or readers do not

Cause

Your browser or network may be showing a cached copy of the page. Some firm networks also route traffic through filters that cache content differently on desktop and mobile.

Remedy

  • Ask the other person to open the direct post URL in a private/incognito window on a network outside your firm, if possible.
  • Clear your browser cache or hard-refresh the page (Shift + reload on most browsers).
  • Compare the same post URL on desktop and mobile using a logged-out session.

Email subscribers did not receive the new post

Cause

Email campaigns are separate from on-site visibility. A visible post may not trigger a campaign if it was published too close to your scheduled send time.

Remedy

Note

If you verified the post is Published, not in Pending review, has the correct date, and still is not visible to logged-out visitors after 15 minutes, email support@lexblog.com with the post URL and screenshots of the editor status panel.
